About the Hillsboro Committee
The Hillsboro Committee is a political action committee registered with the State of Oregon. Our goal is to support the Hillsboro Local Option Levy during Washington County elections.
Quick Facts
- The current operating levy expires on June 30, 2023.
- Renewal of the levy would continue current service levels and programs for police, fire and emergency medical response, and parks maintenance.
- Police would maintain neighborhood patrols and patrol officers, detectives for investigations, community policing programs, child and domestic violence intervention, homelessness response, and youth services.
- Fire & Rescue would maintain current response times for emergency calls, hazardous materials and technical rescue emergency response capabilities, fire prevention and safety programs, and disaster preparedness programs.
- Parks would maintain upkeep of recreation facilities, parks, playgrounds, ball fields, wetlands, natural areas, and future developed park land.
- The same fixed rate of $1.72 per $1,000 of assessed value would continue for the renewed levy.
- If the levy does not pass, public safety and park maintenance would remain a priority, though service levels would be decreased.
